Happy 14th Birthday Kat!
Kat turned 14 on October 14! We are so thankful we have a very happy and healthy, albeit mostly deaf, girlie with us still. Last year she was nearing the end of her cancer treatments and a couple weeks from surgery on her birthday and this year we are excited that she remains cancer free!
For her birthday, we took her to the park and went for a three mile walk. It was a nice, cooler day and we took a route that was pretty shaded. She was wound up when we got out of the car and pulled like crazy for a while. I can’t complain because it’s nice she has the energy to pull!
Near the end of our walk, we found a good spot where the pups could get in the creek. Kat jumped right in!
We also got Kat a lovely birthday cake. I ordered it ahead and ended up with the large size because I couldn’t remember what size we got last time. I don’t think Kat and Gus will complain about eating leftovers!
Since we go all out for birthdays, Kat and Gus also got some Blue Bell ice cream with their cake.
Yum!
For her birthday, we gave Kat a new elevated water bowl. The base of the one we had before had cracked and while it still worked, a 14th birthday is a good reason for an upgrade.
It was a great day to celebrate Kat (even though we let her rule the roost everyday). We can’t wait to celebrate her big 1-5 next year!
