Catching up on summer posts

I need to catch upon blog posts for the summer. Mostly I feel like all I’ve done this summer is work, but we have had a few highlights that I’ll cover in the next few posts.

In June, Kasyn came to visit. This was her second trip flying alone and this time we had some excitement. Her flight was diverted to Houston because of weather in Austin and arrive about 3 hours late. Southwest Airlines did not do a very good job keeping me informed of what was going on, but Kasyn was all smiles when she eventually arrived in Austin, so I guess it was all good.

We spent a gazillion hours in the pool while Kasyn was here, but there was still a time for a girls date to get our nails done.

There was also time to play with our American Girl dolls. We discovered that Gus makes a good couch and he’s also really good at being a scientist in the Mars Habitat. Who knew Gus enjoyed playing with dolls so much!

We also played a little Uno and Gus was really good at that too. Funnily enough, whenever his turn was before mine, he played a lot of Draw Two and Skip cards, but if things got reversed and Gus’s turn was before Kasyn’s, he never played one of those cards. Weird how that worked! (He never did figure out how to hold his cards so we couldn’t see them.)

We also went to a trampoline park (no photos though) and to a movie. Uncle David and I were exhausted by the end of the weekend!
