The first real pool day of summer

The first real pool day of summer

On Sunday, the temperature got up to the low 90s and it was sunny, so we spent the afternoon in the pool. The water temp/air temp combination was finally where it was pleasant to be in the pool. We tried out some of the new things I got from the Vineyard Vines for Target collection, including a drink holder (complete with root beer).

I also bought a beach ball and didn’t realize how enormous it would be. You can see it in the picture of David floating around.

David remember we had an outdoor game set with two rackets, balls, and a shuttlecock, so we got that out and played it in the pool It was fun.

David tried to get Gus to float around on the pool float, but Gus wouldn’t lie down, so he ended up surfing on a pool float. (Yes, that’s a bully stick he’s trying to get on the pool float. That was our bribery to get him to cooperate.)

We also worked with Kat to get her swimming off the ledge. I think it would be good for her to get some swimming exercise.

Finally, David set up this lovely dog spa on the ledge and no dog wanted to use it. We noticed that Kat tried to lie down on the ledge, but it’s too deep for her to do so (it’s about 12-inches of water), so we got out a cot dog bed so she would just have about 6-inches of water. Then David put up the umbrella so she would have shade. The things we do for them that they don’t appreciate!!
